Summary
When Willie comes marching home: a WWII soldier trying to command a little respect. Bill is the first man in his small town to enlist, and he is given him a big sendoff, only to be assigned as a gunnery instructor at the air base in his hometown. When a bomber pilot falls ill, Bill replaces him on a secret mission that will become his chance at heroism. It is said that the story was based on an episode in Sy Gomberg's military career in the Air Force Motion Picture UnitUp the river: two inmates escape prison to help out a friend and former inmate who's being blackmailed
