Summary
Ishmael is a sailor and adventurer. Hoping to try his hand at hunting whales, he joins the crew of the Pequod, a ship led by its long-suffering, one-legged captain, Ahab. As their journey wears on, Captain Ahab becomes more obsessed with finding Moby-Dick, the mighty whale that took his leg. He thrills the crew with tales of the dangerous beast and promises them riches and fame upon the whale's capture. Then one afternoon, a voice finally calls from the masthead, "There she blows!" And it's Moby-Dick!
