Summary
It's the middle of the school year at Santa Monica Arts High and Nate Bannet is smitten with his high school sweetheart, Amy Shore. He and his classmates are working on their class assignment, a high school musical play, when he finally gets the courage to ask her out. Amy has been waiting for him to pop the question, so when he finally asks her, she makes him wait for her answer. She says... I'll tell you Monday at school. But on Monday, something happens that changes their world, and everyone's world, forever. When Nate arrives to school on Monday, he learns that the art school has been closed because of a weird new virus, Covid. Nate and Amy are separated for months. As the lonely days role by, they struggle to keep their love alive, until a new music teacher is hired. This new teacher, a young, struggling musician, is hired to help them re-capture their passion for music. The young musician/teacher quickly earns the trust and admiration of his students until his own personal issues get in the way. But when one of the students attempts suicide, Lars sets aside his own issues and re-dedicates himself to his new family, his students. Lars teaches the students how to use music to keep their love alive even through the darkest of times
